Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Greater Sydney) Ltd is seeking a part-time bus driver to join our team at Sydney Adventist School Auburn commencing late January 2027.
Sydney Adventist School Auburn is a Pre-School to Year 6 school owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The School aims to provide a quality Christian education to students from all religious and cultural backgrounds.
The work of all bus drivers is essential to the operation of the School. The appointee will work closely with the front office and Business Manager in taking responsibility for safely transporting students to and from the school, sporting events, excursions and other functions as required. Compliance with relevant WH&S, Road Rules and other applicable regulations and standards is assumed.
As a part-time employee, you will be required to work 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon to complete the school run along with other hours for sports, excursions etc.

Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Support and uphold the values of a Christian organisation.
- Hold a current LR drivers’ licence to drive a manual vehicle. MR licence would be advantageous.
- A good driving record.
- Have previous experience in a similar role.
- Be enthusiastic about the work that you do.
- Have high standards of work.
- Be punctual and reliable.
- Commitment to the School Staff Code of Conduct.
- Be able to work unsupervised, use your initiative and be proactive in all that you do.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC) valid for employment.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate.
- A willingness to help people and go the extra mile.
The successful applicant will hold a formal teaching qualification (degree level), a current Working with Children Check in NSW and be currently registered with NESA to teach in NSW – or be eligible to register with NESA. It is preferable that the successful applicant be a baptised and practising member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, or a practising Christian sympathetic to the unique Seventh-day Adventist identity of the school.

Essential Criteria
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the safety of students and other passengers as they board, travel on and leave the bus.
- Ensuring strict adherence to road rules, particularly in reference to speeding and phone use.
- Driving in a courteous, responsible manner.
- Conduct themselves with the utmost propriety and professionalism at all times, bearing in mind the standards of the School with regards to smoking, drinking alcohol, dress and language.
- Complete required Safety checks.
- Complete maintenance tasks as required.
- Endeavouring to maintain professional and congenial relationships with students, parents and staff.
- Other tasks as requested by the Principal or Business Manager or their delegates to support the smooth operation of the School.
