Assistant Manager – Spring Beach Youth Camp

Wage: Range depending on Experience

Located on Tasmania’s beautiful East Coast, Spring Beach Youth Camp is dedicated to delivering exceptional, safe, and memorable experiences for youth, schools, and community groups. We offer a space where guests can connect, grow, and explore through outdoor adventures, community living, and hospitality.
About the Role
Are you energetic, hands-on, and passionate about hospitality, outdoor recreation, and youth ministry? We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager to join our team and support the Camp Managers in running all daily camp operations.
As Assistant Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring every group that visits has an outstanding stay. Your day-to-day will be diverse and hands-on—spanning guest hosting, outdoor activity leadership, catering, cleaning, and facility maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Experience & Hospitality: Welcome and present to visiting groups, support guest needs, and assist with hands-on catering and housecleaning to ensure top-tier facilities.
- Outdoor Recreation Leadership: Lead and manage small groups through exciting outdoor recreation activities, ensuring strict safety standards while helping the Managers develop new activities.
- Operations & Ministry: In consultation with and under the direction of the Camp Managers, assist across all areas of camp maintenance, site development, operational reporting, and overall ministry.

- Outdoor Adventure Skills: Experience or strong aptitude in leading outdoor recreation activities (or a willingness to be trained).
- Adaptable & Hands-On: Comfortable balancing indoor hospitality work (cooking, cleaning) with active outdoor activities and property maintenance.
- Great Communicator: Ability to confidently present to groups, lead activities, and build rapport with camp leaders and youth.
- Team Player: Works collaboratively under the direction of the Youth Camp Managers while taking initiative on independent tasks.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration (or ability to obtain).
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Relevant qualifications in Outdoor Leadership, Hospitality, or Youth Ministry are highly regarded (but relevant hands-on experience is equally valued).
