Brief description of role
Do you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems and keeping financial processes running smoothly? Looking for an accounting role where your work supports something bigger than the bottom line?
We are seeking a motivated Finance Assistant to join our Finance team supporting the North NSW Conference. You'll play an important role in supporting our day-to-day finance operations, helping ensure financial processes are accurate, efficient and compliant while contributing to best-practice financial management. Working in a collaborative and supportive team, this role offers variety, professional growth, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work.
Here's some of what you'll get up to:
- Process financial transactions accurately and keep our finance operations running smoothly.
- Prepare reconciliations, journals and financial records with a high level of accuracy.
- Provide friendly and professional support to staff, churches and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the Finance team to deliver reliable financial services across the Conference.
Key Responsibilities
Reasons you might love working for us
- We are mission focused, which means we go beyond wanting to just earn some money.
- Every invoice processed, reconciliation completed and question answered helps ensure our resources are managed wisely so they can support churches, schools and ministries making a positive difference across North New South Wales.
- We have a great team environment, take time to celebrate and lift each other up—and if you enjoy a game of table tennis, you'll fit right in!
- The work is varied and there are opportunities to learn, grow and develop your skills.
Reasons you might not like working here
- We work really hard, and we expect flexibility and commitment to get things done.
- You'll need to enjoy working with both numbers and people—this role is just as much about relationships as it is about accuracy.

- Confidence using Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Xero will be highly regarded).

- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and work well both independently and as part of a team.
